Month
A month is always six weeks, so the grid never changes size as you page through it.
Why
Always 42 cells. A five-week February beside a six-week March would resize the popover under the pointer — which is why the grid is fixed rather than fitted. Arrow keys move by day and week, Home and End by week edge, PageUp and PageDown by month; exactly one day is tabbable.

Measured against Geist on 2026-08-18: 42 cells, 32px days, 256px popover — the same three numbers. We differ on two deliberately: a 24px weekday row to their 18, and rounded days to their square.
