Table
Rows of records to scan, sort and select.
Data grid
The first column names the row, so it is the only one at full weight.
Why
The identity cell carries full-strength weight and everything else recedes — in an object list the identity column IS the object, so it has to be the scan target. Row actions sit in an always-reserved slot and animate only opacity, so the row never reflows under the pointer.
| Firm | Partner | Status | Check ($k) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Acme Ventures | Priya Shah | Drafted | 1,000 | |
| Globex Capital | Sam Rivera | Sent | 500 |
Sorting and selection
Click a header to sort. Select rows to act on several at once.
Why
aria-sort lives on the <th> — it drives both the assistive semantics and the caret, which is invisible until hovered or sorted and rotates 180° for descending. One glyph rotated on the block axis, so it stays correct in RTL. Select a row and the bulk bar appears.

Filter miss
One muted line. The illustrated treatment is for a dead end, or every filter miss becomes a billboard.
