Research & automations

When does research run?

Updated

Lenz searches the web in automations, on a schedule you pick.

Chatting with Lenz is different. It can add rows, change columns and draft emails, but it works from what's already in your workspace and doesn't go out to the web.

Setting one up

No schedule picker to fiddle with. You just say it. Go to Automations, click New automation and write what you want, like:

"Every Monday at 9am, find 10 more seed investors who've backed climate companies."

You can ask for one in a chat too.

New automations start paused so you can read them over first. When it looks right, click Turn on. Lenz can't turn one on by itself. That's always your call.

What happens on each run

Lenz searches, adds what it found to your table and skips anyone who's already there. The automation's Runs tab shows what each run added and what it skipped.

Heads up on timing

We check for automations once an hour, so a run starts a bit after its scheduled time, not on the dot. During early access it can be a few hours late. We're working on it.
